Too many Gmail invites!

August 31st, 2004  |  Published in General

I’m sure everyone in the world has one by now, but if you don’t have a Gmail account, and you want one, let me know. I have six left and no one to give them to!

Just be sure to give your correct email in the correct comment field.

And a sidenote: I know about those stupid PHP errors when someone comments… I just haven’t figured out how to get rid of them yet!

Apple – iMac G5

They’ve been announced. I’m after that 20″ bad boy… less than the Powermac G5 I wanted, and it has a huge monitor to boot! I’m glad I waited.

Site Stuff

I’ve updated the stylesheet a little, so please refresh your browser if you still see the sidebar as a blue box (it is green now!). I didn’t do too much, but did refine things a little (such as changing some fonts, colors, and adding some borders).

As usual, people with OS X will be treated with a better looking site than those without it.

Update: I’ve updated a few more things. The colors are a little darker (especially on the image) and refined a few more things. Starting to look decent now, I think… I wish I had time to work on it more!

Mozilla Camino

Mozilla Camino home page

It’s official. I’ve switched to Camino as my browser of choice. Still all that Gecko-goodness (in terms of rendering, of course) yet it feels like a refined Mac program instead of a clunky Windows monster. Firefox is great on Windows (and good on Mac), but Camino (even with it’s issues) is a couple jumps ahead of Firefox.

The Essentials

I’ve made a new section of the site where I list things that I frequent or recommend.

the hook project

Interesting concept. I hope people can find good books through this who otherwise wouldn’t know where to look.

The Hivelogic Narrative

Dan redesigns using 3 columns. I like the color scheme, the new logo, the navbar… okay, so I like pretty much the whole thing. I also like the serif headers.

I don’t like the “Drink Soy Milk” at the footer. Eww. Drink real milk!

Browse Happy

Time to browse happy. Read about the smart people who changed from IE to something decent. You should think about it too. You should also tell your friends. You should probably do other things, too.
