Brian ‘Head’ Welch Leaves Korn, Citing Moral Objections To Band’s Music

Guitarist Brian “Head” Welch, a founding member of Korn, has left the band and has rededicated his life to Christianity, according to the group’s management.

“Korn has parted ways with guitarist Brian ‘Head’ Welch, who has chosen Jesus Christ as his savior, and will be dedicating his musical pursuits to that end,” a statement from the band reads. “Korn respects Brian’s wishes, and hopes he finds the happiness he’s searching for.”

That was awesome. KORN is a great band, but Welch has chosen a path a few brave men could ever go through. Being a freak for JESUS isn’t the end of your enjoyment in life. In fact.. it’s only the beginning. God is awesome..

that so true, aZumi. I listened to Korn when I was lost and now, maybe, I’ll get to listen to Brian’s new chirstian music. Indeed, God is awesome…

Wow how can you people say this sucks. The heavens are singing and the trumpets are blowing. Another soul won for the kingdom. The influence on young people with music is one of the worst. Now he will be glorifying The almighty with his music making a postive influence on the young people of America. His testimony and New music will help many come to know the Lord. Praise Jesus!

forgive my rage just a minute ago…….but im just appalled at the criticism from the people. SOME OF WHOM ACTUALLY CALLED THEM SELVES BELIVERS! but iforgive the goths and wiccans becuase we fight not them but principalitys and powers! I WAS ONE OF THEM!! And i used to say the same stuff…
till one day iwent to christian school, amonth later i was saved in the principles office ..and the anointing and joy i have is infinitly more than what satan or wicca did in my life. there IS a WAY OUT!! no mater how far you are into it. repent and have authority in JESUS name!!
its better than any high, any power you can have thru filth like that….better than anny drug….oh, i know what youll be thinking “im on crack like head” I THOUGHT THE SAME THING AT ONE TIME!!! AND GOD BLEW MY PATHETIC MIND !! thru him ive casted out a devil
but he get all the GLORY because i am nothing….
finally brothers in christ:the end times are here MATTHEW 24 and you need to end the strife an trash
and come togethar ITS SAD!!!! my church was full of godly people but now its JUST A FEW YOUTH MOSTLY!!! dont let satan succeed in tearing apart
christs body more tha he has SHAME ON YOU AND ME FOR BEING SUCH SINFULL HIPOCrITES!!!EVEN JUSTIFING STrIFE AND DIVISION IN HIS BODY WITH SUCH LIES AS DENOMINATON! were wrapped so much in our denominations and our goals that we spend time attacking fellow belivers because they have shtuff that dont match with ours!!! SHAME ON YOU!! ARE WE NOT MEANT TO BE ONE PEOPLE? i dont see how we think a lot of the stuff we do actually lines up with the word. as the denomination only value certain aspects of
gods word the body then misses other vital points that arnt adressed enough we should value A L L of gods word instead of believing that your corect and are saved
only if you belived ONLY what a given denomination believes. denominations then are bull.gds word never changes denominations are formed by what we wish to hear instead of the whole word so peple miss out .SPEAKING IN TOUNGS IS NOT JUST FOR PENTACOSTALS OR ANY OTHER GIFT OF GOD !!! THIERE FOR ALL OF HIS PEOPLE THE HOLY SPIRIT FILLS ALL BELIVERS NOT JUST PENT> PEOPLE GOT IT ? any way enough of my ramblings… become one body pray for gods power to minister heal cast out devils prophesy an pray in toungs i WILL FIGHT TO THE DEATH FOR MY LORD!!! AGAINST SATAN AND EVIL and even over come my own problems…any way i wish to tellyou to come togeather an worship as one people i bind division in the name of jesus christ and this whole mind set of every thing let god give true revelations to you let him speak to you and show you as he speaks and shows to me PRAISE TO JESUS AND TO HIM ONLY!!! i will pray for you a payer of revelation!!! god bless, westipher hale age 17 ottumwa iowa

PLEASE! You christians always want to start this self praise about how someone is won for “your” cause. If that is his choice it is for his own ends not yours. He can do as he wishes. The sad thing in the whole of the matter is christian moralist are going to masterbate themselves silly with the “idea” they have “saved” a soul. Some where that same moralist “idea” just converted a soul to a life time of hating everything christian. There is nothing without balance. The demons and angels must equal, just as a satan and god must. Without balance all is destoyed. Praise that which invigorates and calms; be it “good” or “evil”.

I think this is what I needed, proof that a person no matter what great of life they seem to have. Money girls drugs, something inside is always wanting for the 1 thing that truly fulfills us. The band was and is great, but everyone no matter how crappy your life, i know people have been beaten and abused and abandoned , but there is that fulfillment of your soul when you talk to god and welcome him to your heart. Alot of people get annoyed at Religious people, some seem arogant and judge anyone not like them. But take it from me who tried everything to try to make me happy but I gave God a try. Never thought I would have believed it, but the peace I felt is unbelievable. So thank you for every one who had to face riddiculing just because all of sudden your not cool anymore. You open peoples eyes to a whole new world. I hope everyone that is sad or feels dirty and unloved knows not all christians are born in the suburbs living in a clean house with a loving protective family. Some have suffered in the ghettos and grew up hungry and bruised. There is unbelievable peace & I hope oneday you give God at least one try.

i have to say it did seem strange for head to leave,,but i do understand the way he feels, and i also know what the other people are saying about it being messed up,but put aside that hes a big rock star and just a normal man with problems like anyone else,he finally found something in his life to believe in,rather its christianity or somethn else no1 should judge him for his own personal choice in his life,,and to address the guy that says god will punish all the satanic and goth people, thats the wrong way to approach things,,thats the reason people wont give things like that a chance cuz u try to scare people into thinking that what u say is right and if we dont believe u we will pay in hell or some other kinda way,,,,and thats not right in itself, people have to figure out what they want and no man should judge him for it,,so i say good luck to brian with his new life and good luck to korn with theres may everyone find there own path that suites them for them without people having somethn to say bad about them,,it couldnt have been easy for head to do what he did and it couldnt be easy for korn to let him go,,but those are his friends that know him outside of fame and in his real life and if they can come to terms eveyone else should be able also,,,,,

I saw the interview with Brian on Daystar 12/3/07. Totally awesome! What a concept…God really did send himself as Jesus down to this earth to live, die, and resurrect from the grave. That all people might be saved from themselves and the sin that’s with us!

I’m a HUGE fan of KoRn. I they’re my favorite band of all time. It saddens me that he left the band, but I think its good that he’s striving for worship. I absolutely HATE how some cristians say that just because we like music like KoRn or Slipknot or Lamb of God means that we’re atheist, satananist or something inbetween. It’s very “uncristian-like”. It’s bewildering that many who are believers are the quickest to judge, and at that they judge wrongly and spitefully. Yet, I’m sure one will eventually say to me that I am wrong and that I am against God or a nonbeliever or some typical crap like that. I just pray that people will realize this and listen to what I have to say. It isn’t blasphemy to listen to modern music. Just because it isn’t cristian rock or jazz or country doesn’t mean it’s evil. Nobody has the right to judge anybody just by the music they listen to. I don’t care that my friend listens to death-metal. I know that death-metal is satan worshipping music, but he says he just likes how it sounds, the guitars i mean. He attends church every week. What have you to say to him? My other friend cuts herself, yet she still attends church. What have you to say to her? Listening to death-metal doesn’t mean your a satanist like the artist and cutting yourself doesn’t mean your evil or demented. He just likes hardcore guitar playing and she just releases stress in an unhealthy way. So as I conclude this message, I just wan’t to say, good luck Brian, and I hope I got through to some people, as did you.

It’s obvious to me that Welch is using this whole christianity thing to make money. His songs’ messages aren’t any more positive than Korn’s are, and he keeps having to rub in the idea that Jesus somehow helped him with his addiction? He helped himself. He also helped himself into a huge melodramatic jump into fame by making himself seem controversial. If someone is truly a christian, they shouldn’t have to tell you, you should be able to tell by their actions. All he seems to do though is constantly try to remind people how christian he is.

Now don’t get me wrong. I’m glad he found his own path. But to use it to become more popular and make a name for himself is a bit too much. That’s not a christian thing to do at all.

Christianity cannot be credited for all good things that happen. Even if Jesus did help him get over his addiction, does that make up for The Salem witch trials? No. People died for no reason because of ignorance through religion, so if it’s the same god that helped him, then that god has a whole lot to make up for. He’d better save absolutely everyone to make up for the ammount of death, ignorance, intolerance, prejudice, and hatred that happens in the name of religion.

As a non-christian: I have never been in a fight, I don’t do drugs, I’m loyal to my wife, and I’m a very peaceful person. Explain to me, please, how religion has anything at all to do with how good or bad a person is…because somehow i’m a better christian than many christians are.

Let me make this clear: You have the power to save yourself. There is no reason to fall to your knees to a man-made, mind-crafted god with contradictory rules that vary from person to person. You are accountable for your choices, no god nor devil can take the blame for what you chose to do.
