Social relations are the key to happiness (Schwartz)

But if money doesn’t do it for people, what does? What seems to be the most important factor in providing happiness is close social relations. People who are married, who have good friends, and who are close to their families are happier than those who are not.

Why does it have to be “something” that makes us happy?

Happiness is an inside job and I have control over what I do with my thoughts.

If I practice active gratitude (write a gratitude list each morning and when things get rough during the day, concentrate on one thing on the list) I have control over how my day progresses.

Life is as good as I allow it to be.
