Actually, I&#039;ve had discussions like this with my wife before. Her name is Nicole, and she hates being called &quot;Nikki.&quot; (She also considers it a moral failing of the highest magnitude for someone to insert an &quot;h&quot; in her name.) Added to the mix are that (a) we first met on Joshua Harris&#039; old message board, where she went by the pseudonym &quot;Martie Anne,&quot; and (b) at that time she didn&#039;t like her first name, so for a few months she went by her middle name. One day this exchange occurred:

&lt;strong&gt;Nicole:&lt;/strong&gt; I love you, Travis.
&lt;strong&gt;Travis:&lt;/strong&gt; I love y...ou.

She didn&#039;t know whether to be offended or to think it was cute. :)</description>
