Why I’m Not a Creationist (Anymore)

I wrote an essay a couple years ago about why I was no longer a young-earth creationist. I finally decided it was time to publish it, and it went up today on the First Things Evangel blog: “Why I’m Not a Creationist (Anymore).”

    Sensible article. Well articulated.

My suspicion is that most Christians who believe in a young earth won’t accept the science from the scientific evidence unless there is first a wide acceptance of a compelling reinterpretation of the Genesis text, which reconciles evolution with what the text actually teaches.

I don’t think it’s a question fundamental to the faith, but it often gets treated that way.
